Our essay contest for high school seniors is back! This is our 8th essay contest and we’re thrilled to be doing it again. We love that the contest provides us the opportunity to get young people thinking about women’s issues before high school graduation.
Our question this year is: “What is one of the most pressing issues facing young women today and how do you see yourself having an impact on that issue?”
Both young men & women are invited to participate. The only requirements are that students be seniors in high school and live in Connecticut. We’ll pick two winners who will each receive plaques at Women’s Day at the Capitol in March of 2016.
If you are a teacher, or know someone that is, please send along this link that contains all the information someone would need to either sign up their school for the contest or sign up as an individual.
We’ve even had teachers create a lesson plan around the essay contest and we’re happy to help with this if needed!
Looking forward to reading these essays and highlighting some amazing young people from the state.
